We're a Norfolk-based company providing a complete timber frame package including design, manufacture and install helping people build better homes and buildings with timber.
Our team at TJT Engineering, who boasts an impressive combined 100 years experience in timber frame construction, set out to create a company that could take care of the whole timber structure.
Today, we design, manufacture and install timber frame buildings, engineered floor joists and roof trusses for projects across East Anglia, Home Counties and Lincolnshire. We've grown, but the idea behind the business is the same: one experienced team, taking responsibility for your structure from start to finish.
Our Approach
One team, start to finish
Many timber frame projects involve a designer, a manufacturer and an installer, each working separately. When something doesn't line up on site, it can be hard to know who's responsible. We do things differently.
We design. Our engineers produce the structural designs and calculations for your timber frame, joists or trusses, working from your architect's drawings or helping you develop your plans.
We manufacture. Every panel is precision-made in our own facility, so we control the quality and the schedule.
We install. Our own installation team puts it all together on site, built exactly as designed.
Because the people who design your structure are the same people who make and install it, problems are solved early, on paper, rather than late, on site.

Our Facility
Precision manufacturing
Our manufacturing facility in Norfolk is where your timber frame panels, take shape. Manufacturing off site in a dry, controlled environment means greater accuracy, less waste and a faster build once materials reach site, with less exposure to the British weather.

We're based in Norfolk and work on projects across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and the Home Counties, and we also supply timber frames, joists and trusses nationwide.
Quality assured
Accreditations
CATG Frame Mark. Independent, third-party certification for timber frame manufacturers, awarded by CATG, a UKAS-accredited certification body. It covers our factory production controls, design and manufacturing checks, staff training, equipment maintenance and product labelling, and is maintained through regular audits.
ISO 9001:2015. Our quality management system is certified to the internationally recognised standard for quality management, covering the design, manufacture and supply of timber frame buildings and their parts.
Design and engineering. We design using MiTek’s integrated CAD and engineering software, with full EC5 engineering to the latest design codes, and our structural engineering is provided by a Timber Development UK member.
Health and safety. Our procedures, risk assessments and policy statements have been independently reviewed by EA Safety, and two of our team hold IOSH Managing Safely certification.
NHBC training. Our Estimating & Contracts Manager, Nick Howarth, has completed NHBC’s Managing Timber Frame Construction course.
Fully insured. Employers’ Liability cover of £10 million and Public & Products Liability cover of £5 million.
